Privacy Policy

This page explains, in plain words, what information YouTube to MP4 Converter handles when you use the site, why, and what choices you have. We built the tool to collect as little as possible, and we want you to know exactly where that line sits.

Overview

YouTube to MP4 Converter is a free web tool that lets you save a YouTube video as an MP4 file or its audio as an MP3. You paste a link, the tool looks up the video, and you pick a quality. There is no account to create and nothing to install.

Because of how the tool works, very little personal information passes through it. The sections below cover the few things that do: the link you paste, standard technical logs kept by our hosting provider, anonymous statistics from Google Analytics, and any message you choose to send us.

What We Do Not Collect

Some things are simply never asked for or kept. This is by design, not just policy.

  • No account information: there is no sign-up, login, username or password.
  • No files: the site does not host, copy or store any video or audio. Each file opens directly from YouTube's own video servers in your browser.
  • No download history: we keep no record of which videos you looked up or which qualities you saved.
  • No payment details: the tool is free, so we never ask for card or bank information.

The Video Link You Paste

When you paste a YouTube link and tap the button, the link is used to look up that video live, so the tool can show its title, length and the available MP4 and MP3 qualities. That lookup happens fresh for each visitor.

The link and the video details are used once, for that request only. They are not saved to a database, not tied to you, and not kept after the results appear on your screen. If you paste the same link again tomorrow, the tool looks it up from scratch.

Information Collected Automatically

Like almost every website, ours runs on infrastructure that records basic technical details when a browser connects to it. Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, processes standard request information so the site can load and stay protected from abuse.

These details are used for security, to block malicious traffic, to diagnose errors and to keep the site running smoothly. We do not use them to identify you personally or to build a profile of you.

  • Your IP address
  • Your browser type and version, and your operating system
  • The date and time of the request
  • The page requested and basic error information

Google Analytics and Cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used in general: how many people visit, which pages they open, roughly which country they come from and what kind of device they use. This helps us decide what to improve, for example whether more visitors arrive on phones than on laptops. We look at these figures as anonymous totals, not as information about any one person.

Google Analytics relies on cookies, which are small text files stored in your browser. You stay in control of them. You can refuse or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings, and most browsers also let you block cookies from specific sites. The tool keeps working if you do.

If you would rather Google Analytics not count your visits on any website, Google offers a free browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics entirely. You can find it by searching for the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Messages Sent Through the Contact Form

If you write to us through the Contact page, we receive the details you enter, such as your name, your reply address and your message. We use this information only to read and answer your message.

We do not add you to a mailing list, sell your details or share them with marketers. Please avoid including sensitive personal information in your message, since it is not needed to help you.

Third-Party Services

A few outside services are involved in running the site. Each has its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to read if you want the full picture.

  • YouTube and Google: the videos and the MP4 and MP3 files come from YouTube's servers. When a file opens in your browser, your browser connects to YouTube directly, and Google's own privacy policy applies to that connection.
  • Cloudflare: provides hosting, performance and security for the site and processes the technical request data described above.
  • Google Analytics: provides the anonymous visit statistics described above and sets the related cookies.

Children

YouTube to MP4 Converter is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has sent us personal information through the contact form, let us know through the Contact page and we will delete it.

Data Security

The best protection is not holding data in the first place, which is why the site stores no links, files or download history. For the limited information that is handled, such as contact messages and the technical logs kept by our host, we rely on reputable providers and encrypted connections between your browser and the site.

No method of sending information over the internet is perfect, so we cannot promise absolute security. We can promise that we keep what we collect to a minimum and treat it with care.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, data protection laws may give you rights over your personal information. We are happy to honor these requests wherever they apply.

To make any of these requests, send us a message through the Contact page and tell us what you would like. In many cases there will be little or nothing to return, simply because we do not store it, but we will always answer and explain.

  • Access: ask what personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: ask us to fix information that is wrong.
  • Deletion: ask us to erase information we hold, such as a past contact message.
  • Objection: object to how we process your information, including for analytics.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy if the tool changes, if we start or stop using a service, or if the law requires it. Any changes will be posted on this page, so it always reflects how the site works today. If a change is significant, we will make it clear here rather than tucking it away. Continuing to use the site after an update means the revised policy applies.

If you have any questions about this policy or how your information is handled, please reach out through our Contact page and we will get back to you.
